New Heat Pump Energy Centre – Glasgow

Engineering & Manufacturing - Private Sector

A sustainability initiative to install heat pump(s) to increase water temperature from 87 °C to 95 °C using waste/surplus energy.
After a successful submission of an electrical design and build proposal, Falcon were awarded the contract to install a new LV sub main power distribution and control system to the new extension facility within the existing plant near Cumbernauld on the outskirts of Glasgow.
The works involved the installation of various steel mechanical containment systems including ladder rack, cable tray, trunking and conduit with additional channel support frameworks throughout.
The bulk of the works was internal within the new extended heat pump energy centre facility, however there was a considerable amount of works carried out on the existing outer roof space and at high level.
A new fire alarm system was installed and commissioned along with a new LED lighting scheme internally and externally.
The works involved many power and control circuit wiring to the new heat exchangers, pump sets and associated equipment.
Additionally an new LV substation and distribution system was installed to accommodate the power requirements along with a new power factor correction system.
The works were safely completed within several weeks and were delivered to an exceptionally high standard by our dedicated team of electrical project managers, chargehands and inhouse electrical installation team.
