Trillium Flow Technologies (Formerly WEIR) – Alloa -Private Sector/ Engineering & Manufacturing

The Project

The West Test area of the 100 year old building went under a major refurbishment with the installation of upgraded test facilities. This included supply vessel, pipework, valves, cooling system and vacuum system. Low voltage electrical supplies were required for pumps, actuated valves, control panels, switchgear panels, cooling fans and instrumentation.

Within the room which was assigned as an HV room we installed a new lighting and heating scheme and low voltage power socket outlets.

(110V and 230V) sockets were also required to be fitted in the West Test areas of the facility.

A full mechanical support system was designed and installed to contain all the new LV sub main supplies and associated cabling to the pumps, valves and motors.

In addition, we upgraded a section of the LV switchgear and distribution equipment to accommodate for the new power supplies.

The works lasted several months and were done during the Covid 19 pandemic. This presented many challenges with regards to health and safety and the general supply of materials and resources that were available.

Falcons technical team assisted in the original design modifications of the project to overcome the difficulties the pandemic presented to ensure that the project could be safely delivered to the client.

In light of this difficulty, the project was fully completed within budget and we continue on our long serving 20 year business relationship with Trillium Flow Technologies formerly known as WEIR Pumps .
